The Realty Association is one of Tennessee's largest single real estate offices. We provide broker support services to over 185 professionally educated, licensed agents assisting homebuyers and sellers in their search of finding a dream home, investment opportunities, or commercial businesses. Our goal is to offer the finest resources, coaching and training available to the agents who affiliate with us so that they will be able to offer the highest level of professional service to help them succeed and to offer their clients the reliability, safety, and trust they deserve.

The Realty Association is celebrating over 30 years in business and upholds the highest standards in the real estate industry. Our company is a member of four different local Realtor Associations, as well as the Tennessee and National Associations of Realtors. All Realty Association agents are required to adhere to a strict strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice founded on the principle of providing fair and honest service to all consumers. Agent business practices are monitored at local board levels. The local boards, like Greater Nashville and Eastern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors, oversee agents directly making them accountable to the individual consumers they serve.

Perry A. Hamlett
Principal Broker

Perry Hamlett is a native Nashvillian with a long and proud family history in area real estate. He is intimately acquainted with local communities and their patterns of growth and development. Equally at home with commercial and residential real estate transactions, Perry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his supervisory role as Principal Broker of The Realty Association.

Jim Coffer

Jim Coffer and partner, Mickey Olsen, started the Re/Max Executive Group in 1987. Jim continued his leadership role with the company when it became independent in 1990, and now serves as its President and Director of Training. His real estate credentials include the CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), GRA (Graduate Realty Association), RECS (Real Estate Cyberspace Specialist), e-Pro (online real estate specialist), and ITI (Instructor Training Institute). He has also earned GNAR's "Life Member Awards of Excellence," and served several years on TAR's Residential Forms Committee. Prior to entering real estate, Jim ran a dairy farm and taught high-school biology. A former certified flight instructor (CFI), Jim also piloted the local Re/Max hot-air balloon. Jim is married with four home-schooled children.


Donna Lee Elwell
Office Manager

Donna Elwell started with the Company as an administrative assistant in 1994. She moved to the Nashville area in 1991 from Michigan where she worked as a bookkeeper for an accounting firm. She obtained her brokers license in 2002 and has served as Office Manager and Principal Broker for realnet! since December, 2002.

Dorothy L. Taylor

Director of Policy and Development

Dorothy Taylor, Vice President and Director of Policy and Development, is also a major stockholder of The Realty Association. She is the author of a theory of the self that provides the philosophical and psychological background for the policies and directions of The Realty Association. She served eight years as psychologist with a dialysis/transplant team in Chicago and was a practicing psychotherapist in the Chicago area for some 25 years thereafter. Presently retired from her practice as a psychotherapist, Dorothy now focuses on writing, theory development, and policy guidance to The Realty Association. She was married to Henry Coffer until his death. Dorothy has two children in addition to her stepson, Jim.

The late Henry Coffer (Jim's dad, Dorothy's husband) was a founding member of The Realty Association. He served for several years (1992-2001) as the principal broker and designated REALTOR® of the Company.  He was an ordained minister who had a long history in preaching and teaching.  A pastoral counselor for many years, Mr. Coffer held his Diplomate credential in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. He earned the designations of CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager) and GRI (Graduate REALTOR® Institute).
